donkey wheel house

Designed in the Venetian Gothic style, donkey wheel house opened in 1891 at the height of Victoria’s 19th century boom and was originally home to the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Company. It's a glorious, heritage listed space.

Almost 130 years later, dwh is now home to a community of change-makers including Progress Central (occupying the 'Ballroom' on the top floor), The Climate Council, Kinfolk cafe, The School of Life, The Difference Incubator, Ethical Property, The Big Issue and Human Rights Arts and Film Festival.
